TEDxHamburg – David F. Flanders – 3D Printing: This Century’s most disruptive innovation?!
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
How do I start manufacturing this machine?
I recently invented a machine that helps standardize some aspects of a baseball game. I made my prototype out of Legos, and presented it the commissioner of pacific coast league baseball. He loved it and basically said that he wanted to use it when I started making it. My prototype is already being used in some professional games already. I also entered this in the high school science and engineering fair, and ended up placing 3rd at the International level. So I know that if I can manufacture this machine it will be used. I have already figured out my patent and stuff so all that’s left is to commercially make this machine. My question to you is, where exactly do I start? Is some kind of consulting service that I should get involved with? Or should I instead make another prototype that would better simulate the real machine? Or maybe I should just draw up the CAD drawings and bring them down to a machine shop? Or hire an engineer to do all of this for me? thanks for the help!
Does anyone know of this online site where you can upload 3d characters and get 3d prints of them?
I was googling around online for some good rates on 3d printing/prototyping places for some CADs I had made. I stumbled upon one that was almost like an online build-a-bear. This place I found took blender and 3dsMax files of characters and would print and ship them to you. You could make your own or browse the library of ones users have created and submitted. It was almost like a make your own warhammer figureine type of thing. I have a friend who is really into 3dsMax and probably would get a kick out of this site so I was thinking of buying him credits there as a Christmas gift. The only problem is that when I search again for it, I can’t seem to find it. I don’t even remember what keywords I used to stumble upon it. Does anyone know what site im thinking of?
