*Go to time 3:32 to directly view the competition run. CHESTER, standing for Colorado High Efficiency Sample Transport Exploration Rover was built to collect mars rocks and deliver them to a specified target zone. He was built at the University of Colorado at Denver as an extracurricular activity. The robot could not pass the size limitation of 6.5×6.5×14.5 inches but must surmount 4 inch tall obstacles in the course. The build went from sketches, to lexan prototypes, and to a final build using a rapid prototyping machine. The district competition was held by University of Texas at Arlington on 4.17.09 and Chester took 2nd out of 28 teams!!
