Markus Kayser – Solar Sinter Project
Making Something Out of Nothing Using Nothing (renewable energy) This just blew my mind away, I do not own the video.. All the links are below: In a world increasingly concerned with questions of energy production and raw material shortages, this project explores the potential of desert manufacturing, where energy and material occur in abundance. In this experiment sunlight and sand are used as raw energy and material to produce glass objects using a 3D printing process, that combines natural energy and material with high-tech production technology. Solar-sintering aims to raise questions about the future of manufacturing and triggers dreams of the full utilisation of the production potential of the world’s most efficient energy resource – the sun. Whilst not providing definitive answers, this experiment aims to provide a point of departure for fresh thinking. Solar Sinter project (solar sinter project) Link to producers: www.markuskayser.com

Amazing idea! Imagine all that can be achieved with this idea if it is really exploited. Good luck with your project.

@GuanoLad To show that it wasn’t hooked up to anything, and that spot had good supply of the stuff he needed to do it (sand and sunlight).

@GuanoLad blending the machine in with the scenery

I wonder why he dragged it to that spot. What was wrong with plonking it any old place?

beautiful piece of film.

@jhayarrre Hmm, Sounds familiar…
Sand + Heat = glass
Real life! -
This works better than I expected.

@jhayarrre You’re a fucking retard bro. To make glass in real life you heat sand. Minecraft didn’t invent the fucking laws of sand.
-
@jhayarrre ¬.¬ sand becomes glass when heated in real life.

@Dekartdek Same people in the credits, whats your point?

Maybe the egyptians had a huge solar printer to make the pyramids ^^
-
What would he do, if a sand storm came? =D

perfect idea
-
poorly edited presentation.
as far as I know, was the editor NOT the real editor of the film. Wonder, what else might be stolen or who is falsly taking all the credit for some innovations here…

Wow…. That’s gonna lead to some awesome stuff!

Simply awesome!
