Fab@Home personal fabber 3d printer
www.fabathome.org Fabbers (aka 3D Printers or rapid prototyping machines) are a relatively new form of manufacturing that builds 3D objects by carefuly depositing materials drop by drop, layer by layer. Slowly but surely, with the right set of materials and a geometric blueprint, you can fabricate complex objects. Believe it or not you can build your own fabber, Fab@home is a site with all what you need to build your own fabber, Our goal is to explore the potential of universal fabrication Machines that can use multiple materials to fabricate complete, active systems. Inspired by this history, the goal of this project is to offer an open-source, low-cost, personal SFF system kit, which we call “Fab@Home”. The aim of this project is to put SFF technology into the hands of those same curious, inventive, and entrepreneurial citizens. In addition, through this Wiki web site we hope to inspire users of Fab@Home to exchange their ideas for applications and their improvements to the hardware and software with us and each other. Several machines are already in use.

make a 3d printer out of a 3d printer
Planning on getting/building one of these things.. First thing I’ll print are Nintendo systems, LOL.
@richteen: Don’t know………. Good question!
how can I rent this fabber for an event?
consider how you’ll spend $30,000 on a commercial machine like this.
how precise is this?
now would the chocolate be edible?
im curious and hungry….
I’ve got to build me one of those.
Who did the music? I like the guitar work
they cost like 3k, just checked on that site xd
The music sounds like an 8-bit Nintendo theme.
It is made with spunk?
u know… the food is edible! this is an amasing device! but… u need the amount of food… plastic… or whatever to make anything with it
lol
thats incredible
Can you create Klien bottles? LOL
*cheer*
as a matter of fact..
do a google search for “RepRap”
..
“RepRap is short for Replicating Rapid-prototyper”
I assume someone has put together the plans to build a fabber from a fabber.
If not, well then I’m a bit disappointed.
Still an awesome premise.
someday, when I get mine, I’m going to USE regular airsoft BBs as the build material. Extruded through a pressurized heated “syringe”
MIDI MUSIC
A radical idea struck me, you could mass produce airsoft bb’s from a biodegradable material, and so you would have unlimited ammo as well as not caring about picking them up, plus, you could lay them all out in a plane on the 3d software, so you would basically get a sheet of airsoft bb’s
I’m probably going to build one soon… then I’ll make some chocolate
. It’ll be cool.
Chocolate? CHOCOLATE? CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!! CHOCOLATE!!!
Seems promising! The chocolate one just cracked me up though hahaha its just simply squeezed out in a random spiral.
