3D Printed Flute
This isn’t a perfect instrument, some of the keys didn’t close well and Seth had to improvise, and to use some fingers to close keys that didn’t seal well. This is the reason – as some of you have noticed – the fingering seems odd.

this is a joke, or a toy
i want to print a mandalorian helmet….but not a replica. i want to put a rear facing camera on the stalk and a small LCD screen on the inside to give 360 degree vision. also something that would be great to add in to the helm would be a computer brain interface, but those are pretty pricey as would the rest of the suit if it was desired to be “fully functional”. i’d be just fine with a helm that offers some degree of protection(unlike replicas) and also gives 360 vision.
Soon we will be able to print appartments, cars, anything is possible, Venus Project dot com!

I think the difference is in that normal machine production involves taking a block of material and milling it or cutting it down in order to fabricate a part. In this case a printer builds up layers at a particle level and the unique thing with this printer is that it can simultaneously build using multiple materials.

Can this 3D printer, print 100% of its own parts (self-replication). The RepRap can print 50% to 75% of its own parts depends on the model.

It seems like it isn’t a printer but rather a manufacturing machine that gets the design signal from a computer. Is it much different than the machine made instruments we already produce in factories? Maybe the way the design is sent to the machine is different, but it isn’t as if flutes have never been machine made before. I guess I don’t know enough about design and manufacturing processes to know the implications this has.
